Statement of Faith and Principles |
|
Preamble |
|
This is the statement of faith and principles that all members of Redeemed are
expected to agree to.
The purpose of a Statement of Faith is to list the foundational doctrines of
Christianity and publically affirm that the members of the clan believe in them
and adhere to them.
This document is divided into two sections. Section one is the Statement of
Faith, which lists the basic elements of Christianity which we believe are the
essential and defining doctrines of the faith --- the ones that define what
a Christian is. We do not include subjects on which Christians may
hold differing opinions but still be considered Christian.
Section two defines the purpose of the clan and the values that we as a body
of believers hold in common. This section is not a statement of
doctrine, but a statement of the purpose and principles of this particular
expression of the body of Christ (the clan Redeemed). As such, it reflects
attitudes that may or may not apply outside the clan.

Section 1: Statement of Faith |
- We believe in one God, the almighty infinite Father, the Creator of
Heaven and Earth.
- We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, by
Whom all things were made.
He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born --- fully God
and fully human --- to
the virgin Mary. He suffered at the hands of the Roman government,
was crucified, died, and was buried. On the third day, He was raised
from the dead. He ascended into Heaven and is now seated at the
right hand of the Father. He came to Earth for our salvation, which is by grace
through faith. He will return to judge the living and dead
and usher in the eternal kingdom of God.
- We believe in the Holy Spirit who is the Spirit of God that indwells
believers and works to accomplish God's purposes on earth.
- We believe that God the Father is God, Jesus Christ is God, and the Holy
Spirit is God. Even so, God is still One God and is without division
in His nature.
- Salvation is by faith that the Lord Jesus Christ is the Son of God,
and that His death and resurrection were to provide our salvation.
Salvation is a free gift of God, not based on our works, and there
is nothing we can do to earn salvation on our own merits.
- There is no salvation apart from faith in Jesus Christ. Those who come to
faith in Christ will be saved. Those who do not come to faith in Christ
are condemned.
- The Bible is the written word of God. It is inspired by God and
forms the basis for all authority and doctrine among Christians. Its
words are absolutely true according to the intent of the Author.
Everything in the Bible is literally true in the social and literary
context in which it was written. Any doctrine plainly and clearly
addressed in Scripture should be taken as absolute without reservation.

Section 2: Principles and Values |
The threefold mission of Redeemed is this:
- We exist to give Christians a community free from worldly pressures
and ideals in which they can play JK/JK2 casually or competitively
in a Christian-based, vulgarity-free environment.
- We exist to encourage Christian game players in their walk with the
Lord and help them understand vital points of Christian doctrine and living.
- We exist to present the gospel of Jesus Christ to the Jedi Knight
community in a clear, loving, and straightforward manner.
In order to best equip ourselves to uphold this mission, we hold to the
following values and principles:
- Integrity: In all things we will strive to be honest
and open in all our dealings with our fellow members. We will not
lie or deceive, nor will we act in secret to undermine or sabotage
the clan. We will strive to let our "yes" be "yes" and our "no" be
"no".
- Courtesy: We will act with respect toward our fellow members at
all times. We will respect their convictions on nonessential doctrines
without belittling them. We will act in a spirit of gentleness and
humility, and strive to avoid having an arrogant or condescending
attitude toward other members.
- Loyalty: We will always remain faithful and loyal in all things: To
God first; and after that to our home and country, to each other, and to
Redeemed.
- Openness: We will be open and honest with other members about
any concerns we may have, and we will discuss with the leadership any
issues that may endanger our relationship with each other and with the
clan as a whole.
- Service: We will serve one another, for he who would be a leader
must be a servant. We will help bear each other's burdens, and we will
diligently serve each other and Redeemed in whatever ways we are able.
We will place the needs of others above our own, and service to God
above all.
- Purity: We will strive to uphold high standards of purity and
morality in all things. We will strive to avoid all appearance of evil,
and we will always seek to attain a closer walk with God.
- Love: We will treat each other in a spirit of love and
compassion in all things. We will act in empathy, supporting and
encouraging our fellow members, and we will offer them our friendship
and prayer when they are in need.
- Faith: We will trust God in all things, believing in His
providence even when we cannot see it in action. We will keep our
hope and belief in Him even when we do not understand His purpose
or method.
As members of Redeemed, we hold these values and principles to be the
cornerstone of our attitudes and behavior, and for so long as Redeemed
shall uphold these values, we pledge our devotion and sacred honor to the
support of its ministry.
